MOUNAM – AVINASH EXCEL- Rating – 3.5 /5 ****
Posted date: 22 Sat, Feb 2020 – 11:46:13 AM

Duration – 146 minutes, Category – Love story, Rating – 3.5 /5

Title – Mounam, Producer – Srihari, Direction – Raj Pandit, Cinematography – Shanker, Music – Arav Rishik, Cast – Avinash, Mayoori, Balaji Sharma, Hanumanthe Gowda, Ritesh, Kempe Gowda, Nayana, Sinchana, Manjula Reddy, Gunavantha Manju and others.

Here is a good analysis from first director Raj Pandit. The thinking is far beyond and his speed in screenplay was much sought after for this film. What could have been told in one and half hours he has added one hour more.

Yet this is the best in the career of Avinash, agile actor of Kannada cinema. He is seen in six different shades in this film – among all the caring father, lover boy preparation and rehearsal to tell ‘I Love You’ are admirable indeed!

Mounam is a father and son bondage to the core. Avinash giving extremely good care like how AN Murthy Rao ‘Devaru’ explains takes on several difficulties to find a good placement of his son played by Balaji Sharma. The handsome and straight forward guy is liked by Mayoori in the college campus. But this love materializing in to marriage is not that easy. Mayoori is given the task of convincing father of Balaji Sharma – Avinash.

At the resort of Avinash, Mayoori comes to win the heart of her would be father in law. But father in law is bowled over by the beauty of his would be daughter in law.

Avinash is all set to say I Love You, he prepares so much and shape up his physique to the level of his son.

What happens next because in the first scene director Raj Pandit gives a guessing lesson to the audience as Avinash character carries a gunny bag and in a place it is lit on fire!

What is that? You have to watch this movie ‘Mounam’ – because silence is sound in this film.

Avinash in different shades deserves to get best actor award. This variety for him was not seen in his earlier films.

Balaji Sharma has a bright future, Mayoori as female lead is a treasure of talent, Nayana in comedy track is already famous for it.

There is one lilting score a duet song shot on Balaji Sharma and Mayoori, Dialogues are apt and locations are good. Sharpness in editing was required.

This is a good film tucked with some issues that make you think.
